Please join me on Facebook Live on Thursday, April 9th at 3 PM for a longer, more in-depth discussion of being a chaplain to the world.
We are encountered in life by a stream of character-defining moments. Moments when we choose into the challenge or we choose out of it.
The choosing out is always marked by one characteristic: the reluctance or the unwillingness to change.
And the opposite is also true. The choosing in is always marked by the willingness to be changed.
The character-defining moment is the opportunity to overcome not just the particular challenge but also the limited understanding we have of ourselves.
Here is a short video I made about it.
Also, there are still two more times to gather online this week.
I have really enjoyed the conversations I had yesterday and on Monday. Very inspiring and hopeful. Let's keep it up.
And tomorrow at 3 PM Eastern I will cover the 7th step in the Seeker's Table immersion journey "What has to die in order for you to be reborn." Click here to receive a reminder.
I'm not alone in this...we're all feeling it...but about three weeks ago I started feeling this sadness.
I reached out to a few friends to try to shine some light on it, but the daily plans weren't really helping that much.
Then, about a week ago, the voice of a mentor appeared in my head and he said, "Go help someone." I started reaching out to people, checking in on them, cheering them on. And it has made all the difference.
I made a little video about it here.
But I'd also like to help you, if I can.
I set up four Zoom sessions this week for people to come and talk about where they are spiritually. I don't know if I have any solutions, but, if nothing else, I'm here to listen. And seeing your face will make me so happy.
All you have to do is click one of the links below and show up.
And, you will be helping me also, so maybe think of it as an act of service. : )
I hope to see you.
I've created another VoiceThread to help us support and inspire one another. This week my question is:
There is a certain fantasy that surrounds the spiritual life. We seem to simultaneously believe that it is accessible to everyone and by everyone we mean everyone else. For us it is hard. We admire people like Thomas Merton or Pema Chodron, but we overlook the work they put in to access wisdom.
I've created another VoiceThread because I enjoyed last week's conversation. This week my question is: What are the preconceived ideas you live with about being able to access the inner guide?
If you haven't already created a profile on VoiceThread, don't worry it is very easy.
How you are saying yes to intimacy in this dangerous time? And if you are struggling of if you have something to share that might inspire others, click here to leave a comment.
If you haven't created a profile already, it is very easy. I would love to have this conversation with you.
You will receive and email from us in a few moments and then you'll receive an email each week 60 minutes prior to the Seeker's Sunday gathering. If you ever change your mind and don't want these notifications any more, just click 'unsubscribe' and they will stop.
